“Working is the best thing for me because I’m borderline ADHD, so I need some kind of focus or I go a bit extreme. I need work to keep me sensible”. Jaime Winstone.

Personal Power

Your personal power starts with freedom of choice.

You get to choose the meaning you give an event or situation in your life.

You choose your beliefs.

You choose your reactions or responses to life challenges.

You have been given the gift of choice. Use it consciously.

Different choices = different life.

This week’s ADHD Advantage

Resilience

Resilience – The ability to cope with stress and recover from setbacks is one of the greatest predictors of a person’s future success, according to mental health professionals.

People with ADHD build this trait as they overcome daily challenges and create strategies to accomplish their goals.

People with ADHD show way more resilience than others. We are triers by nature. Society is wrong to force us into wasting our energy trying to conform to their rigidity when they should be the ones learning from our fluidity.

“Persistence and resilience only come from having been given the chance to work through difficult problems.”

― Gever Tulley

This week’s ADHD Challenge

Inspire and Train Your ADHD Mind

Your ADHD mind is a good servant. But a terrible master.

Most of us feel we are passengers in life. Controlled by our thoughts and voices in our heads.

You have the power to make your ADHD brain work for you, not against you.

Your mind is designed to protect you and will do whatever it takes to keep you safe based on the files in your mental filing cabinet.

Your mind files are beliefs and experiences you have accumulated throughout your life, even if they are false or don’t serve you well.

Solutions

  • You are not your mind nor your thoughts.
  • Your mind and thoughts are who you learnt to be.
  • Reality is personal. Choose yours. Not other people’s reality
  • Your ADHD mind is just a part of you.
  • Don’t trust your mind!
  • Question every negative thought. Is it real?
  • Become aware of your thoughts.
  • Remove negative thoughts.
  • Install new positive thoughts.

Weekly Tip

Dealing with Fear (False Evidence Appearing Real)

Most fears are something imagined or believed without proof.
Nothing is anything until you assign meaning to it.
Does fear run your life?
Confusion is a type of fear. Procrastination is a type of fear. Doubt is a type of fear.
Your mind uses fear to keep you where you are. Your fears are just thoughts.
Your power lies in your ability to choose your thoughts and defeat fear.
Never let fear decide your future.

“Everything you want is on the other side of fear.”— Jack Canfield
