Personal Power

Your ADHD brain has given you some extraordinary skills. It is your responsibility to learn how to capitalise on them and make this world a better place for yourself, this generation and those that follow.

Your prehistoric ancestors used their ADHD brains and were the hunters who cared for the tribe. They used their impulsivity, unrelenting curiosity and hyperactivity to remain calm in a crisis. It is the reason why the rest of the world exists today. The world needs your help. Start small; think big.

This week’s ADHD Challenge

Life is Messy

A rough day can be a pain, and too many in a row can start a downward spiral that can be hard to reverse.

When all you want to do is lie in bed and call it a day.

It’s normal to feel like sh*t, but you don’t have to lie in it!

“The best thing about storms is that they always pass”.

  • Kick back – punch life in the face… figuratively.
  • Ask for help when you need it
  • Take a break when you’re tired
  • Be patient with your progress
  • Allow yourself to make mistakes
  • Remember better days are coming
  • Treat yourself with kindness and compassion

Weekly Tip

Increase Your ADHD Motivation

This is based on Dr. William Dodson’s concept of ADHDers having an interest-based brain.
The 4 C’s of Motivation: Captivate, Create, Compete, Complete

  • Captivate: make it interesting.
  • Create: make it creative or novel.
  • Compete: make it competitive or challenging.
  • Complete: make it urgent, time pressure.

Give it a go and see which ones work best for your ADHD brain.
